Jeff Stelling stunned by ‘unbelievable’ Newcastle issues in win over Leeds United
Jeff Stelling was stunned by the injury issues that Newcastle United suffered as they beat Leeds United 1-0 at Elland Road on Saturday.
Jonjo Shelvey’s second-half free-kick won the Magpies all three points in West Yorkshire but they had to fight hard after losing three players to injury.
Joelinton, Paul Dummett and Jamaal Lascelles were all substituted off with an injury, as outlined by Tim Sherwood, who told Stelling about the issues on Sky Sports News on Saturday afternoon.

Sherwood said: “Lascelles has had to come off, Jeff. It looks like he’s done his hamstring as well.
“It’s Lascelles, Dummett and Joelinton all coming off injured.
“Real problems for them.
Stelling replied by saying: “Unbelievable. Bad luck as far as Newcastle are concerned.”

Ridiculous
It just makes it even worse for Leeds when you see how hampered by injuries Newcastle were.
Of course, the Whites have had injury issues all season with almost as many senior players unavailable as there were available for the clash at Elland Road on Saturday.
Patrick Bamford’s fresh foot injury is a massive blow and it remains to be seen how long it will be before he’s back.
While Raphinha’s been among the goals and Jack Harrison netted a hat-trick at West Ham, there’s a massive lack of a goalscorer in this team and before the January window closes, we’d like to see Victor Orta go out there and sign a new striker.
It won’t be easy to convince someone to join us when they’re going to be playing second-fiddle to Bamford when he’s available.
However, it’s something that the club simply needs to do.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are ready to hold talks over a last-ditch January transfer.
