Leeds United were hit with somewhat of an injury crisis before their clash against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Friday.
Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente and Kalvin Phillips were all ruled out through injury at Villa Park, leading to a reshuffle in defence.
Marcelo Bielsa went with Pascal Struijk once again in that midfield role, just as he did when Phillips was out last season.
The Dutch youngster has impressed this season but had a tough opening few minutes against the likes of Ross Barkley.
Struijk was actually substituted 21 minutes into the game, replaced by Jamie Shackleton after picking up a booking.
It was for a challenge on Jack Grealish, and there were no doubts over that challenge after he arrived way too late.
The risk came minutes later when he once again made a late challenge on Douglas Luiz, and it appeared that Bielsa had seen enough.
Many Leeds fans have reacted to Bielsa’s decision, with the majority claiming it was the right call to take Struijk out of the game.
Most of those claimed that the youngster was off the pace anyway, with one saying he could have given him an early heart attack.

Struijk giving me heart attack #lufc

Wise move from Bielsa, that. Perhaps harsh on Struijk but it was a red card waiting to happen and you can’t take the risk. Only Bielsa could get away with making subs on 20 minutes. #lufc

Hard for him but looked off the pace, can’t risk 2nd yellow, Barkley and Tom Daley are a good pair, Shacks the man
