It's been a week of mainly bad news for Leeds United fans, after a defeat to Wolves on Monday was followed by news of an injury to Kalvin Phillips.

However, there was a huge pick-me-up ahead of Friday night's game against Aston Villa in Marcelo Bielsa's pre-match press conference from Thorp Arch.

It came from the big man himself, who said that he was very comfortable living and managing in Leeds and that he's open to staying at the club longer than his one-year contract.

"I’m very comfortable living and managing in England," Bielsa said. "Annual contracts does not mean I am not open to staying here longer."

Leeds fans absolutely loved this and it's not hard to understand why.

The impact of Bielsa at the club has been absolutely phenomenal. He's turned the team he inherited into a side that matched and at times outplayed Man City.

That would have been unbelievable to any fan when Bielsa arrived and said he didn't think the squad needed wholesale changes.

Bielsa always signs one-year contracts. And he left it very late this summer, which gave a lot of fans cause for concern.

In the end he signed his new contract just ahead of the first game of the Premier League season against Liverpool.

In the five games that Leeds have played in the top-flight so far, the club has picked up an army of neutral fans who love the way Bielsa has the side playing.

And these tweets show just how much the man means to Leeds fans, with many saying it was the best news they'd heard all season.
