Hasselbaink saw something today he had ‘never seen’ from Leeds before
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said that Nottingham Forest deserved their 2-0 victory and added that they made Leeds make mistakes he’s never seen them make before.
Leeds put in a dismal performance at the City Ground, gifting Forest both goals.
The first came from yet another blunder from Kiko Casilla, who let Sammy Ameobi score on his near post.
Leeds huffed and puffed in the second half without really creating any clear chances, bar a free header from Liam Cooper that was just saved on the line.
Jack Harrison lost the ball late on to leave Forest with two players on Casilla and they made no mistake in wrapping the points up.
Talking on the Sky Sports coverage of the game (Saturday, 7pm) Hasselbaink said that Leeds deserved nothing from the game.
“They made Leeds make mistakes and Leeds made them, mistakes I’ve never seen Leeds making,” Hasselbaink said.
“The decision making from Leeds was poor, really, really poor.
“The second goal summed it up. Difficult times. It was a Leeds I don’t recognise at all.”
This was as bad as we’ve seen from Leeds this season. To a man, they were awful.
Ben White, normally the one player who stays calm, was misplacing passes. Jack Harrison and Helder Costa had plenty of the ball but delivered no end product.
Patrick Bamford hardly touched the ball and Gjanni Alioksi looked like he wanted to get sent off.
It doesn’t bode well for the game against Brentford on Tuesday night and Leeds will look at the table tonight and see that the chasing pack has caught them.
If things don’t change, Leeds will be looking to hold onto a play-off place.
