Olivier Giroud was blown away by Leeds United despite Chelsea beating the Whites 3-1 in their Premier League clash on Saturday.

The French international scored the equaliser at Stamford Bridge after Patrick Bamford scored the opener for Leeds in the first stages.

Liam Cooper admitted after the game that there were no complaints, but that Chelsea did outplay and outwork his side.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Giroud admitted he was not surprised by Leeds' quality, but did label them the best team he has faced in months.

"Honestly, we were not surprised to face this team because we knew their qualities," he said.

"One of the best teams I've faced since a few months, physically wise, they run everywhere, it was so hard. Well, it's a great feeling to win - they drew against City. They really impressed me, they are a good team."

It was Diego Llorente tasked with marking the French colossus, with the Spaniard coming on for his debut to replace the injured Robin Koch.

Leeds kept more of the ball, but Chelsea had 23 shots on goal and kept the Whites quiet going forward. Despite it being one of our worst performances, we are still getting praised and must use this as motivation.

Not many can argue with the result, and these games will happen for Leeds this season. Chelsea will be near the top of the Premier League come to the end of the campaign, and at-least the Whites left a lasting impression for now.
