Gary Neville predicts Leeds United trouble this week live on Sky Sports before Aston Villa clash

Gary Neville has predicted that Leeds United will find themselves in bother across the next week ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

The Sky Sports pundit has backed Aston Villa to pick up all three points on Friday 13 January, leaving the Whites looking over their shoulders this week.

However, Neville did back Leeds to be fine in terms of fighting away relegation to the Championship, as he enjoys what he has seen from watching them.

Speaking live on Sky Sports ahead of the game, as shared on their website, Neville was not expecting much from the Whites in terms of a positive result.

“They’re only a couple of points off the relegation places,” he said.

“They’re in that scrap, but I always feel they’re a willing team when I watch them, I don’t feel as though they’re a team, to be fair, who are down by what’s happening around them, they always have that energy, bright in attack.

“They’re a little bit erratic and ultimately, I think they’ll be ok come to the end of the season, but they could have a little bit of scare. I do think they’ll cause problems here tonight for Villa, but I do think Villa will get over the line.

“I think that Leeds will find themselves in a little bit of bother in the next week or so looking over their shoulder.”

Same Old.

This same old narrative always appears to crop up when Neville or Jamie Carragher are on the case.

Leeds have looked solid enough since the World Cup ended and have picked up a couple of good draws against Newcastle and West Ham, who have both spent big.

Turning those results into a win at Villa Park would make it a very successful period for Jesse Marsch and his squad, ahead of the anticipated arrival of Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim.

A win in the west midlands ahead of a new club-record transfer for a new striker would set the tone perfectly for the rest of the month and the season ahead.

Shutting people up is what Leeds do the best in the Premier League, and it would be no surprise to see a big win this evening, with that defence hopefully looking better when back to full strength.

All eyes are on Villa Park with a big night of football ahead.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are one step away from completing exciting January signing, according to a reliable journalist.
