‘EFL will come down on the club’, ‘Stupid’ – Many Leeds fans react to tweet about clash v Fulham

Leeds United are hoping to play their remaining home games at Elland Road but that’s not a given at the moment.

A lot will depend on the behaviour of Leeds fans when the Championship restarts and the first game back will be a real test of their resolve.

Leeds have already been dubbed “high risk” along with Liverpool in a report that claims both teams could be forced to play home games at neutral venues.

That would be awful for Leeds, both in terms of a loss of home advantage and the reality of winning promotion in a neutral ground. Having no fans there is bad enough.

Leeds play Fulham in their first game back at Elland Road and fans know a win against the third-placed side would be a huge step towards securing promotion.

One fan asked, “Anyone planning on going outside the ground for our first home game back against Fulham? #goingup”

Of course, this could be an innocent question that would have been followed up with a “Well don’t”, but we don’t think so.

However, it was very reassuring to see 100% of the replies reacting strongly against the suggestion.

MOT Leeds News columnist Paul Robinson believes that the majority of fans will stay away from stadiums, but that a small minority will.

We can’t emphasise just how important it is for Leeds fans to prove they can be the best in the country when it comes to this.

Please. If you do one thing for the rest of the season, stay away from Elland Road on matchday.

Support your side and ensure they can win promotion at Elland Road.
