Confirmed Leeds United starting XI v Newcastle

Leeds United have confirmed their starting XI for the Premier League clash against Newcastle this afternoon.

The Whites are looking to make it three wins on the bounce after big victories against Burnley and West Ham this month.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, Marcelo Bielsa has handed starts to the likes of Rodrigo and Diego Llorente coming in.

The injury news has been mixed once again at Thorp Arch this week.

Adam Forshaw and Junior Firpo were forced off with muscular problems in the win at West Ham last week, and are back in rehabilitation.

That was counteracted by the return of the likes of Joe Gelhardt and Tyler Roberts to training after their problems.

Huge.

A win this afternoon could all-but-guarantee Leeds’ status as a Premier League club, that’s how big this could be.

Paul Merson insisted on Sky Sports earlier this afternoon that would be the case should the Whites pick up three points, and we agree.

Bielsa will be desperate to follow up the two big wins this month, and keeping that form could see us shoot up the table.

There is a small break after this one too, so a win would be the perfect motivation going into this two-week spell where we could welcome back some of our injured players.

All those things together put pressure on this game and potential win, hopefully, we can get the job done with ease.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are set to table a sneaky £22million bid to secure major new January signing
