Confirmed Leeds United starting XI v Chelsea

Leeds United have confirmed their starting XI for the Premier League clash against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa has been forced into numerous changes, with Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips ruled out injured.

Confirmed on their official Twitter account prior to kick-off, the Whites have started the likes of Jamie Shackelton at right-back.

With the likes of Phillips, Cooper and Patrick Bamford missing, this is a real opportunity for others to come in and prove themselves.

This is a real test for Adam Forshaw.

Having finally started to show some reliability with brilliant performances since his return from injury, he will be tasked with protecting that back four even more today.

Damage limitation?

Chelsea have been relentless all season, and if they score early, it could be a real issue for the Whites and it could be made a long afternoon.

Having said that, they have conceded six in their last two games combined, so the likes of Dan James could be a real weapon.

Will the likes of Thiago Silva want the Welshman running in behind consistently for 90 minutes, certainly not?

Bielsa and the travelling fans will have everything crossed, but hopefully, they can be given an early Christmas present in the capital.

With Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool up next, you’d like to think that we could at least pick up a few scalps along the way.
