Confirmed Leeds under-23s starting XI v Arsenal

Leeds United under-23s have confirmed their starting XI for the Premier League 2 clash against Arsenal this evening.

The young Whites are set to play in front of a rammed Elland Road, with tickets flying off the shelves all week.

Confirmed on the official club Twitter account prior to kick-off, Mark Jackson has started Junior Firpo and the likes of Joe Gelhardt has missed out.

This is going to be a great evening of football.

After the likes of Cody Drameh, Crysencio Summerville and Sam Greenwood all tasted senior action at the Emirates, they will all want more.

Joe Gelhardt is clearly at the front of that queue though, and he will be looking for more Premier League action against Norwich.

Next in line for a debut may be Lewis Bate.

The former Chelsea man has been shining in midfield, and he could be the short and long-term answer to our problems in that area.

He will be looking to prove that against one of the best at the academy level this evening for the Whites.

Packed.

Elland Road will be packed this evening for some brilliant under-23s action, and no doubt that Marcelo Bielsa will be present.

With no game tomorrow, the Whites will likely travel to East Anglia then ahead of the trip – leaving this evening spare.

We have seen El Loco take in the action at Barnsley in recent years, so he certainly won’t be missing this one at Elland Road.

Many will have taken motivation from Gelhardt in recent weeks, and it is time for them to do the exact same on a big stage.

In other Leeds United news, Sky Sports have hinted if Raphinha will be out for the long-term with his injury problem
