Clinton Morrison calls out ‘terrible’ Leeds United star after Sky Sports footage vs Burnley

Leeds United trudged into the dressing rooms unhappy at half-time against Burnley.

Leeds travelled to Turf Moor on Saturday, knowing that a crucial three points were up for grabs against another promoted side in Lancashire.

However, it was the home side who took the lead through Lesley Ugochukwu, who headed home under zero Leeds pressure after a cross from Kyle Walker.

Brenden Aaronson had a golden chance to equalise before the break, but his weak effort was saved onto the post despite being clear through on goal.

Brenden Aaronson called out at Leeds United again

Despite impressing defensively in this new system under Daniel Farke, Aaronson has simply offered nothing in the final third.

The American international isn’t helping himself either, though, losing the ball in sloppy areas and missing chances like this one at Turf Moor.

Clinton Morrison, speaking live on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, was far from impressed with the chance, despite some trying to praise Dubravka in goal after watching the replays.

“He’s in on goal and he should score,” he said.

“He tries to pass it round Dubravka, he saves it, and it goes onto the post. People will say it’s a great save, I’m going to say it’s a bad miss.

“In that situation, you’ve got to score. It’s a terrible miss.”

Brenden Aaronson simply not good enough

Excluding his chance against Burnley, Aaronson still should be off the mark for goal contributions this season, but it just hasn’t happened.

Noah Okafor missed out at Turf Moor through injury, but he has already scored twice in the Premier League and outperformed his expected goals and assists in only four starts.

Jack Harrison was forced to start after injuries, but the winger did everything right to set Aaronson away through on goal, with fans instantly losing confidence.

A weak side-footed effort never looked like going in, and those moments could be something that fans remember if relegation starts looking more likely.

With Dan James back on the bench and the likes of Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha crying out for chances, Aaronson could have just wasted his last.
