CBS journalist fumes at ‘absolutely embarrassing’ Jack Harrison moment in Leeds United 2-2 draw v Brighton

CBS journalist Jake Winderman was furious with Jack Harrison after his own goal in Leeds United’s 2-2 draw with Brighton on Saturday (11 March).

The Whites winger made a howler when he sliced the ball into his own net instead of clearing it to give Brighton a 2-1 lead, but he made amends later in the game with a stunning equaliser to ensure the points were shared by both sides.

But after his poor attempt at a clearance ended with a goal for Brighton, Winderman couldn’t contain his frustration and took to his personal Twitter account (11 March) to vent to fellow Leeds fans.

“All Jack Harrison had to do was use his right foot.. and he puts it in his own net with his left,” he wrote.

“Absolutely embarrassing stuff.”

Poor

Harrison had a real rollercoaster of a game at Elland Road on Saturday, and there is no doubt that it was a poor lapse of judgement in that moment that cost the goal.

He’ll watch it back plenty of times and will know that all he had to do was smash the ball away with his right foot and it all gets avoided.

But in his defence he could be in that exact same situation 100 times over and for 99 of those occasions he’d make the adequate contact with the ball needed with his left foot and clear it.

Those margins are the difference at the very highest level and Leeds will be hoping that those two points and that one goal difference won’t come back to bite him in the relegation battle.

But Leeds are now one pointe off safety with 12 games to play, and we need to find a way to turn these decent performances into victories and points otherwise our Premier League adventure will be coming to a brisk end.
