Brentford admin takes wild dig at Jesse Marsch as Leeds United lose 5-2

Jesse Marsch had a day to forget as he watched his Leeds United suffer a 5-2 defeat in the Premier League against Brentford on Saturday.

The American not only ended up on the losing side but was also sent off for encroachment and this led to many joking about it.

No less, the official Twitter handle of the Bees, decided to have their own fun with the entire incident.

They wrote, “Jesse Marsch has spent more time on the pitch than in his technical area this afternoon

“He’s now spending the rest of the afternoon in the stands as he’s sent off.”

Disappointing

Leeds only have themselves to blame for this one and Marsch was fuming but he did not set his side up well here.

They were constantly being hit on the counter-attack and were going to pay the price for it sooner rather than later.

There was nothing they could do about Ivan Toney’s magical free kick but all the other goals, including the concession of the penalty, were avoidable.

We do not remember seeing a Leeds side this open since the final weeks of Marcelo Bielsa and Marsch needs to understand that it’s not a one size fits all approach.

Thomas Frank is an extremely pragmatic manager and he successfully manages to get the job done against teams that do not cater their approach every game.

This is a learning lesson for the American and he’s got to shuffle up his Leeds squad slightly and cannot play the same eleven each time.

His substitutions also seemed baffling when Leeds were chasing the game and it remains to be seen whether or not he’s learnt his lessons from this one.
