We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has said it will be a “big boost” for Leeds if Raphinha is passed fit for the game against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
Raphinha faces a late fitness test ahead of the game at Selhurst Park this afternoon.
Kalvin Phillips (injury) and Rodrigo (positive Covid-19 test) have been ruled out and Robinson thinks that Marcelo Bielsa should name an unchanged starting XI for the Premier League clash.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “You really want these players back fit because these are the sort of games you want to get something from.
“Teams like Palace will probably be around Leeds in the league come the end of the season.
“Leeds really missed Rodrigo against Leicester, and they missed Kalvin Phillips in that holding midfield role.
“I think Klich has to drop deep again, though, with Phillips out. I don’t think Bielsa will change what he saw as his strongest XI last time out.
“There’s no getting past the fact that Leeds are without key players and when that kicks in it’s going to hurt you.
“Getting Raphina back would be a big boost. He’s looked really good when he’s come on for Leeds. They need that depth in the squad.”
Leeds or Crystal Palace can move into the top six with a win today.
Despite playing away, Leeds are the favourites to come away with the three points from the game.
They’re priced at 11/8 with Palace at 2/1 for the win.
