Beren Cross shares what Victor Orta did to Leeds United players after Crystal Palace clash

Leeds United director of football Victor Orta greeted every player after the 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross spotted Orta waiting outside the dressing room at Selhurst.

He hugged every player as well as members of the backroom staff as they made their way past him after the game.

In his article, Cross wrote, “Leeds United’s director of football has never been shy in showing his support for the team, whether that be from the directors’ box, in the tunnel or in a Watford pub.

“Victor Orta was front and centre once more on Monday night at Crystal Palace.

“As the players came off the field at full-time and made their way for the dressing room in the corner at Selhurst Park, Orta was waiting for them.

“Stood at the entrance to the changing room, Orta clasped hands and hugged every member of the team as they came past him, as well as the backroom staff.”

Camraderie

It’s good to see Orta being so close to the players both in the good times as well as the bad.

Surely, he would have wanted Leeds to win the Palace clash, but even a draw was a cause of celebration for him.

Things behind the scenes appear to be really harmonious and Orta surely is playing an important role with his hands-on approach.

After Marcelo Bielsa, many wondered how the dynamics would be under a new head coach.

However, Jesse Marsch’s transition has been seamless, to say the least, and the Whites find themselves in a comfortable position.

Relegation is still a worry but they look in a good place as of now and hopefully, it continues for the foreseeable future.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
