Ben Parker & Tom Hill go wild at Sam Greenwood goal for Leeds u23s v Arsenal

Leeds United under-23s were involved in another cracker on Friday evening as they welcomed Arsenal to Elland Road.

Sam Greenwood opened the scoring for the young Whites, finishing off a nice move including Crysencio Summerville down the right.

Arsenal were complaining as they had a man down, but they had the chance to put the ball out and didn’t themselves.

Tom Hill and Ben Parker were on commentary for the game on LUTV, with it unfortunately not being shown for free.

There were just below 9,000 fans at Elland Road for the game, and the pundit duo went as wild as them as the goal went it.

“Sam Greenwood gets the first gaol against his former club,” he said.

“Great run from Summerville and Greenwood net it, it’s a simple finish – it’s his fifth of the season.”

This is everything we want to be seeing from our under-23s side.

Marcelo Bielsa has instilled a relentless style at the club, and it is being passed through every single level through the academy too.

Mark Jackson is responsible for that, and he is doing a fantastic job with these under-23s as they look to impress and jump into the senior side.

Greenwood initiates the press in the final third, the ball is finally won back by Summerville and those two do the rest with a clinical finish.

It really is wonderful football at every level, and they deserve almost 10,000 fans cheering them on as they look to make it onto the pitch when Elland Road is full.

Looking at this, it won’t be long until that happens.
