Bamford starts – Confirmed Leeds starting XI v Arsenal; Pontus Jansson at Emirates
Marcelo Bielsa has named his starting XI for the eagerly-awaited FA Cup clash between Leeds United and Arsenal on Monday night.
As expected it’s a mix of youth and experience, with Illan Meslier and Robbie Gotts getting their debuts.
Patrick Bamford leads the line and he’ll be desperate to prove that he can do it against top-flight teams after only scoring once across 27 Premier League appearances with Burnley, Norwich and Middlesbrough.
Barry Douglas and Gaetano Berardi come into the side and will be looking to make an impression to try and secure more game time in the second half of the season.
Pontus Jansson is reportedly at the Emirates to support his former teammates, something that will only make him more of a legend in the eyes of Leeds fans.
The team news was announced on the official Leeds Twitter page ahead of the 7.56pm kick-off.
Leeds fans are going to be split tonight. Everyone wants to do well against Premier League opposition, but perhaps the worst result is a draw.
Hosting Arsenal at Elland Road would be pretty epic but Leeds don’t need any distractions for the rest of the season and need to keep their players fit for the Championship.
Arsenal have put out a strong line-up with Alexandre Lacazette, Pepe and Mesut Ozil all starting.
The game is live on BBC1, with pre-match coverage starting at 7.30pm.
