‘Actual cheating’, ‘Disgrace’ – Many Leeds fans savage one Arsenal player after FA Cup incident
This was the first game that Leeds United played under VAR and fans weren’t expecting it to favour them.
That’s the way it turned out as Alexandre Lacazette got away with kicking Stuart Dallas in front of the cameras.
The incident went to VAR who decided it wasn’t violent conduct.
Okay, it might not have been the most violent kick but it was at least as bad as the one that Tottenham attacker Heung-min Son got sent off for against Chelsea.
A kick is a kick and Lacazette surely should have gone off.
That might have made the difference tonight but that didn’t really matter. Losing 1-0 but putting in a performance like Leeds did was probably the very best outcome for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
They desperately wanted a result on the night and had more attempts on goal than the home side, but we’ll take what we saw and move back to focusing on promotion.
The VAR officials should probably dust up on the rules.
Here’s what the Leeds fans made of Lacazette and the VAR decision…
