‘A lot of Leeds fans seem to be very excited’ – These fans absolutely loving team news v Arsenal
Plenty of Leeds United fans are getting excited at the prospect of finally going to get to see Robbie Gotts in action tonight.
He’s been patient. He’s been on the bench over 30 times for Leeds without making his debut, and he’s had to see a procession of other Under-23 players, like Oliver Casey and Pascal Struijk, come into the squad and play before him.
He gets his big chance tonight, though, and it seems Marcelo Bielsa was saving him for Arsenal and the BBC TV cameras.
That’s a big test for the youngster, but Bielsa has talked him up, saying of the midfielder: “I have never seen a player play with such a dynamic. He’s a player with skills.”
It’s no wonder that Leeds supporters are thrilled that he’s getting his big shot tonight.
The pressure will be huge but Bielsa will have told his players what’s important – that they focus on playing well and giving a good account of themselves.
Progressing in the cup isn’t important.
What is important is Leeds playing Arsenal in the league next season.
As for tonight, it’s a taste of what we can expect next season (fingers crossed). We’ve seen a lot of Gotts in the Under-23s and we think he’s going to impress people tonight. (Hopefully not too much though, with the January window open.)
The kick-off is 7.56 – in the meantime, you can start to get even more excited by reading these tweets…
