A career in print magazines that included editing PC Zone, launching PokerPlayer and redesigning The Big Issue has finally led Dave to writing about the love of his life, Leeds United. It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

Leeds United have a list of five "top targets" and want to sign all of them, according to Graham Smyth from the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Smyth said that Ben White was one of these five players and said the plans didn't include any "superstar" names.

He added it wasn't a rebuild but a case of evolving the current Leeds squad.

Writing in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Orta said, "Director of football Victor Orta, who like many of the squad has to quarantine having travelled to Spain, is never not busy but his time will not be his own for the foreseeable future.

"Video meetings upon video meetings, conversations upon conversations, with agents of young players who may spend 2020/21 out on loan, with his counterparts at clubs who have what Leeds want in terms of new talent, with Marcelo Bielsa as the club work to secure his services for at least another season – the energy Orta showed in the directors’ box at Derby is what is required now.

"This squad needs a little more depth and the feeling at Elland Road is that solid signings, not superstars, will strengthen what has already been built. It’s not a rebuild, it’s an extension.

"To that end, Leeds have identified five top targets and would like to sign them all. Ben White is among them."

We were expecting four signings so we're happy with this.

It means Leeds fans can rule out moves for players like Edinson Cavani and Zlatan and focus on the players that will fit with the current Bielsa squad.

We're expecting a goalkeeper (hopefully Sergio Romero), two centre-backs (hopefully Ben White and one other), a striker (Jonathan David or Callum Wilson would fit the bill) and possibly a midfielder.

Plenty of names have been linked with Leeds but there's been nothing concrete yet, aside from Joe Gelhardt from Wigan.

He would be for the Under-23s to start so we don't expect him to be one of the five names.

Jack Harrison and Illan Meslier have already signed and it means Leeds are looking for five players on top of them.

That would be very good summer business for Leeds.
