Why Thomas Tuchel will look foolish after Premier League's Jayden Bogle announcement

Leeds United star Jayden Bogle is yet to receive his first England call-up - and that now looks even more ridiculous.

Thomas Tuchel recently announced his squad for the Three Lions' upcoming UEFA Nations League group-stage games.

Both James Trafford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were given the nod by the former Chelsea boss, with England's first game coming against World Cup winners Spain on Saturday.

England have had a clear problem at right-back for several years, with the likes of Reece James, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tino Livramento either injured or deemed not good enough to start.

The Three Lions started with four different right-backs at the World Cup, namely James and Djed Spence, while both Jarell Quansah and Ezri Konsa were played there out of their natural position of centre-back.

But Daniel Farke will know full well that Bogle has done enough at Leeds to earn his England call-up.

Bogle ended the season strong last term and has carried over his momentum into the new campaign.

The Englishman has gone from strength to strength for the Whites, starting in each of their five Premier League games so far.

He scored in the 1-1 draw against Brighton, and also had a goal taken off him in the 4-1 battering of Newcastle after it was revealed that Calvert-Lewin had the last touch.

After a stellar month in September, Bogle has now been nominated for the Player of the Month Award, as revealed by the Premier League's official X account on Thursday.

Mohamed Belloumi, Pascal Gross, Alexander Isak, Jeremy Jacquet, Charalampos Kostoulas, Kevin Schade and Antoine Semenyo have also been nominated.

The winner will be announced next week, and it would be ironic if an English right wing-back won it while sitting at home during England's camp.

England haven't figured out their right-back problem for years, so when Tuchel inevitably sees struggles in the position over the three-week break, he's going to look rather foolish.

Why Bogle isn't only Leeds star hard done by Tuchel

Bogle is most likely going to keep on performing for the Whites, and Farke has even been asked about the possibility of the defender being called up to the England squad.

He knows Tuchel and could even be in contact with his fellow German head coach from time to time, as Bogle would surely come up in conversations.

But James Justin has also been performing at a consistent level for Leeds, though he is yet to have a look-in either.

Perhaps it's more difficult for the former Leicester man, who is playing as a centre-back for Farke right now.

Either way, considering some of the players who have been given the phone call for England in recent years, the Three Lions could do much worse than Bogle and Justin.
