Why Daniel Farke was seen 'kicking off' in Leeds defeat vs Arsenal
For the first time this season Leeds United are in a position where they're looking to bounce back from a Premier League defeat.
The Whites put in a great effort against defending champions Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
However, ultimately it proved in vain as Leeds fell to a 2-1 defeat against Mikel Arteta's side in North London.
James Justin's goal had put Leeds ahead, but goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimaraes completed the turnaround for Arsenal.
Despite the defeat, Leeds are still sitting seventh in the Premier League ahead of facing fierce rivals Manchester United at Elland Road.
However, one thing against Arsenal left Daniel Farke "kicking off" and BBC Radio Leeds reporter Jonathan Buchan has shared why.
Why was Daniel Farke kicking off in Leeds loss vs Arsenal?
No one could have argued if Leeds had taken something from the game against Arsenal.
The Whites were superb for much of the game, though going head actually appeared to awaken Arsenal from a slumber as Arteta's men found a new gear.
However, Farke was clearly unhappy with some of the decisions made by referee Paul Tierney.
It was the bookings of Ao Tanaka, Ethan Ampadu and Justin that frustrated Farke, who thought Arsenal were not being punished for similar challenges.
The German himself was then booked himself for stepping out of his technical area in protest.
Speaking on the Don't Go To Bed Just Yet podcast, Buchan explained Farke's annoyance.
He said: "Daniel Farke got a yellow card didn't he for complaining about that (Leeds bookings)?
"He was asked about it in the press conference afterwards and sort of said, 'well, they didn't give a yellow card to an Arsenal player for a similar incident and I said to them well, don't just give a yellow card to my players then because the stadium all goes up'.
"And almost the exact same incident happened a few minutes later and they gave a yellow car, so that's why he was kicking off."
Leeds have a great chance to bounce back
Leeds' loss at Arsenal does not take away from what has been a superb start to the campaign.
This weekend provides an outstanding chance to bounce back given the turmoil Man United find themselves in.
Their 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday led to Lisandro Martinez throwing a grenade and hammering pretty much all levels of the club.
If anything you could even make a case that Leeds should start as favourites on home soil at Elland Road.
Nothing is given, and everything has to be earned, of course.
But Leeds should have no fear, this is a great opportunity to bounce back immediately.
