Why Daniel Farke was furious after James Justin incident in Leeds' win over Nottingham Forest
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke was spotted in a furious reaction in Saturday's 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
Anton Stach's free-kick secured all three points for the Whites in the 88th minute at the City Ground.
However, there was controversy in the first half as Ola Aina fouled James Justin.
The tackle was reckless but he was only handed a yellow card rather than being dismissed by referee Rob Jones.
Keith Hackett told MOT Leeds News that the decision was correct, but Farke's reaction suggests he thought otherwise.
There is nothing that the Elland Road side can do about it now, but they can still be angry.
Why was Farke furious with James Justin incident in Leeds vs Nottingham Forest?
Farke was obviously not happy with the fact that Justin was put at risk from the challenge.
The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Lee Sobot spotted the boss' reaction and revealed how he felt after the incident.
In the unseen moments column on Sunday, he said: "Daniel Farke’s fury at Ola Aina’s challenge on James Justin early in the first half.
"Farke and his Leeds players were clearly not happy with the tackle and Aina looked pretty lucky to just get a yellow after the intervention of VAR."
The Whites boss' anger was fully justified as his situation at left-back is far from ideal.
Why is left-back such a worry for Leeds?
Gabriel Gudmundsson would have been first-choice but he is out with injury.
The Swedish star suffered a muscle injury in the pre-season clash with Liverpool and is still sidelined.
If Justin picked up an issue as a result of Aina's challenge, Farke may have had to use 18-year-old academy starlet Jayden Lienou.
That would be far from the perfect solution, as the Wales youth international is yet to make his top-flight debut.
Sam Byram is another option for the position, but given the fact that he made two league appearances last season, the boss clearly does not rate him very highly.
That explains why Farke was so unimpressed with the tackle from the Nigeria international, because it could have left him in serious peril when it comes to his options in the position.
Luckily, Justin was not injured and finished the game, so he should be fit for the next game, which happens to be against the same opposition in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Hopefully they can get one over on Aina and his teammates once again, and potentially go on a cup run.
