What Leeds United now know about Anton Stach after what happened in Germany's upset loss vs Greece

Leeds United will have been keen for Anton Stach to have a successful international break with Germany.

The Whites saw their midfielder receive a call-up to Jurgen Klopp's squad ahead of the break, which was his first chance to impress the ex-Liverpool boss.

He featured for 26 minutes in Germany's 1-1 draw with the Netherlands on Thursday, which was the first game of their Nations League campaign.

Stach earned his call-up after another strong start to the season for Leeds, where he has built on momentum from last term.

Daniel Farke is a big fan of the 27-year-old and has most likely had conversations with Klopp about the midfielder.

Stach featured once again for Germany on Sunday, though his nation fell to a shock 1-0 defeat to Greece.

Germany now sit third in Group Two after their loss to Greece, and are at risk of failing to advance to the knockout stages.

Stach has now taken his overall tally of performances for his country to five, and will be hoping to add many more in the future.

However, he will not be making any more appearances this international break.

Klopp deliberately selected a 44-man squad for Germany's camp, splitting the team into two.

Germany's first two games allowed him to use a selection of 24 players, including Stach, while match three and four will see him chose from a batch of 20 different individuals.

Stach only came off the bench for the final six minutes of the match against Greece, and appears to have seen out the game without picking up a dramatic injury.

The good news for Leeds is that he is now presumably returning to LS11 unscathed and ready to go straight back into first-team action for Farke.

Stach's injury history assessed

Leeds don't exactly have the most ideal depth, which makes it imperative to keep Stach fit.

However, he suffered four different injuries for the Whites last campaign.

A head injury kept him out of one game, while an innocuous muscle issue kept him out of another in January.

He also had a hip problem which left him on the sidelines for three games for half of February.

But Stach's ankle injury was perhaps the worst of them all after his foot swelled up in an FA Cup victory over West Ham in April.

It's safe to say that the Leeds man isn't made of rock, and injuries can happen.

That's why Farke will be delighted that Stach's playing time will not be determined by anyone else but the Whites until the next international break.
