What Daniel Farke wanted to make clear to Leeds players after dropped points vs Crystal Palace

Daniel Farke was quick to put matters into perspective following Leeds United's underwhelming 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.

The Whites were favourites to come out on top against a Palace side that had lost three of their first four Premier League matches.

However, it was not to be as Leeds' attackers failed to fire in a low-quality contest at Elland Road.

Palace went closest to finding a winner, only for Tyrick Mitchell's goal to be ruled out for offside in the build-up.

But Leeds can be pleased with their return of nine points from five matches.

That leaves them fifth in the early standings, with Farke happy to focus on the positives.

What did Daniel Farke say after Crystal Palace draw?

Prior to the Palace game, Leeds thrashed Newcastle United 4-1 to give supporters plenty to get excited about.

The stalemate with the Eagles was therefore a comedown, but the players have given their all so far.

That is something Farke was eager to make clear in the dressing room on the back of the Palace game.

"My lads also dream big and wanted to do this, so for that they needed in the dressing room a bit more of an arm around the shoulder," Farke told the club's website.

"A bit of criticism of what we could have done better, yes, because we always speak about the things we can do better, but also not to lose the big picture of what we've done overall since the start of the season."

That was the message Farke wanted to get across to his players, with many now having already headed off on international duty for the next few weeks.

"I have no chance to see them [after the matchday]," Farke added. "So for that, a little analysis of the game was also there, so that they don't miss my message.

"So it's quite busy the matchday just before the international break, because some of them we will just see them again one or two days before the next game."

How are Leeds performing season-on-season?

Five games into a season is far too early to make any serious assesrtions.

However, that is not to say Leeds fans cannot still remain excited about a challenge for the European spots.

As pointed out by Opta, Leeds are four points better off against the same opposition they faced last season.

That is the most of any side in the league, and suggests Farke's men are certainly on the right trajectory.

Momentum is a huge aspect of any sport, so the key now is to hit the ground running when club football resumes next month.
