Daniel Farke seems to be running out of rope at Leeds United.

Leeds sit 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone, having lost their last two matches against Brighton and Nottingham Forest.

Farke clung on to his spot in the Leeds dugout in the summer, despite concerns over his record in the top-flight, and that pressure has risen again.

It seems like the 49ers Enterprises are going to have to make a decision soon, so MOT Leeds News looks at three contenders to replace him.

Brendan Rodgers

Leeds have been mooted with a move for Brendan Rodgers, who sensationally left Celtic in October.

Rodgers is a seasoned Premier League manager, having had stints with the likes of Liverpool and Leicester, and would undoubtedly be an upgrade on Farke.

  • Premier League games: 312
  • Wins: 139
  • Draws: 71
  • Losses: 102
  • Points: 488
  • Points per game: 1.56

If the Whites could tempt a manager of his standing to Elland Road then it is a no-brainer, as he would surely improve the team and keep them up.

The 52-year-old has won 13 trophies in his career as a manager, so supporters in LS11 would be instantly excited if he was appointed.

Whether he would be willing to take charge in Yorkshire, that is another matter entirely.

Ange Postecoglou

A slightly more controversial selection, Ange Postecoglou has been linked with the Leeds job in the past.

The Australian was recently sacked by Nottingham Forest after a miserable spell at the City Ground, but his underdog mentality could suit Leeds.

  • Premier League games: 81
  • Wins: 31
  • Draws: 12
  • Losses: 38
  • Points: 105
  • Points per game: 1.30

The 'Us against the world' stance that he has taken in recent years, especially in his time at Tottenham, could be exactly what the Whites need to survive.

He won the Europa League title last season, despite a desperate league campaign with Spurs, and his determination could keep Leeds in the division.

Thiago Motta

Thiago Motta is another who has previously been linked with Leeds, and his CV is an interesting one, to say the least.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player was sacked as Juventus manager after nine months in charge in March 2025, but has shown he can work well at smaller clubs.

  • Serie A games: 146
  • Wins: 55
  • Draws: 45
  • Losses: 46
  • Points: 210
  • Points per game: 1.44

The 42-year-old kept Spezia in Serie A in the 2021–2022 season, before earning a move to Bologna, where he secured a surprise Champions League berth.

He has proven his credentials with underdog teams in the past, and that could be just the kind of change that the Whites need.
