Daniel Farke's Leeds United side have gotten off to a positive start on their return to the Premier League.

The Elland Road outfit have won two of their first seven matches and sit in 15th place, four points above the relegation zone.

Leeds were heavily predicted to be relegated in the early stages of the campaign, but they have shown that they are not a team to be written off.

The likes of Gabriel Gudmundsson and Noah Okafor have stepped up for Leeds in recent weeks, proving that they are no pushovers.

Leeds can have confidence that they will stay in the Premier League

There is another key stat that backs up the idea that the Whites can survive this season, and that is the number of big chances that they have conceded.

Farke's side have conceded just the joint-third lowest amount in the top-flight, per Sofascore, with nine allowed in their opening seven games.

Only Arsenal and Newcastle have conceded less, with Bournemouth on the same tally as the Peacocks.

Daniel Farke needs to fix a different Leeds issue

While there is little concern about the defence, and the underlying metrics in that regard, there is another concern for the Whites.

They have struggled to put the ball in the back of the net, with just seven goals so far in their league games.

  • The Whites have created 1.9 big chances per match
  • They have missed 1.4 big chances per match
  • They are currently having 3.4 shots on target per match

Farke needs the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Joel Piroeand Lukas Nmecha to step up in front of goal, if his side are to stay in the division.

Their start from a defensive standpoint, has been extremely impressive though, and solid foundations at the back, gives the LS11 outfit a huge chance to achieve their ambitions this season.

If those numbers hold up, and the attacking ones improve, they should definitely stay up and build on their return to the top-flight.
