Sunderland make new announcement on Leeds United fixture and Storm Boelo
Sunderland have confirmed that the Premier League fixture against Leeds United will go ahead.
The Whites are due at the Stadium of Light on Sunday afternoon for a 4:30pm kick-off.
Daniel Farke is looking for his first victory in four matches, having picked up two points out of the past nine.
Leeds still sit eighth ahead of Sunday's fixtures, and could go as high as fourth if results go their way.
Regis Le Bris and Sunderland, on the other hand, are struggling and currently sit rock bottom.
With Storm Boelo rolling through the north of England overnight, serious weather warnings are in place.
Doubts surrounded the fixture, but what have Sunderland now said?
Sunderland release new Leeds United statement
As things stand, all of the Premier League fixtures for Sunday are currently going ahead.
There are five in total, in a busy day up and down the country.
Sunderland have confirmed it will go ahead despite the ongoing storm and "adverse" weather conditions around the stadium.
Fans are advised to keep an eye on social media channels for any changes to that, keeping some doubt in place.
With Leeds fans likely having travelled up already, it would be very late for this to change.
Latest Leeds team news
There are several doubts for Farke to manage in this one.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the big one, with the striker managing a foot issue following the draw against Manchester United.
Noah Okafor and Anton Stach are also injury worries, with the fitness issues mounting up at Elland Road out of nowhere.
Stach has posted his usual pre-match graphics on Instagram, which would suggest he has shaken off that injury.
Joe Rodon will continue his recovery, while Dan James may be fit enough to return to the squad at the Stadium of Light.
Leeds will be looking for some sort of revenge in these stormy conditions, having only picked up one point from six last season in this fixture.
Sunderland won't be easy pickings, regardless of where they're sat in the league, and the weather could cause absolute carnage in this wind.
Right now, it's going ahead.
