Leeds United went off to a quick start as they face Stoke City in the Championship on Monday, with Joel Piroe quickly getting on the scoresheet.

Daniel Farke opted for an unchanged starting lineup at Elland Road on 21 April, with the Whites looking to seal their promotion to the Premier League.

Dan James won't feature against Mark Robins' team as he's picked up an apparent injury, despite featuring as a substitute when the West Yorkshire outfit beat Oxford United 1-0 in their previous fixture.

The Peacocks didn't wait to punish the Potters as Piroe completed his brace before 10 minutes were played in the tie, and the visitors were rightly ridiculed for what happened.

Leeds United make Stoke look like joke after Piroe goals

Stoke had a shocking start in the fixture at Elland Road, Adrian Durham says.

The talkSPORT pundit branded Robins' team a "joke" for the manner in which they conceded two quick goals against the Whites.

Durham was left disappointed with the Potters as errors in their own half led to Piroe snatching a brace at Elland Road, with the striker scoring another two later on, with Junior Firpo also contributing to the 5-0 scoreline.

Speaking on talkSPORT (21 April, 15:11), the pundit said: "It's more like joke city than Stoke City, they've been asleep for the first 10 minutes of this game. That's a shocker from them. They've lost the ball in their own half for both goals, and Piroe's pounced and punished."

Elland Road excited about promotion prospects v Stoke

Farke's team will confirm Premier League promotion if they win against Stoke and Burnley beat Sheffield United later on in the day.

The Whites could potentially end their two-year exile from top-flight football soon, which is all the Elland Road faithful have been hoping for.

With the West Yorkshire outfit hitting a rough spot in recent matches, they dropped to third in the table for a while, but find themselves at the top again.

Farke would've been under pressure at Leeds if they'd failed to win automatic promotion from the Championship.

Farke's record at the Whites this season before facing Stoke.

The 48-year-old head coach has one of the best squads at his disposal, and that has been seen in the current campaign as they've dominated most teams despite suffering several injury issues.

All the Whites can do is focus on their result and hope for the best elsewhere.

Even if promotion isn't confirmed in the coming hours, the West Yorkshire outfit will still be confident of playing in the Premier League next season.

Elland Road will be excited to see what their team can produce after the break.
