Sir Alex Ferguson was so often the scourge of Leeds United during his time as Manchester United manager.

The legendary manager led Man United into battle 36 times against Leeds during his time at Old Trafford.

Ferguson won 20 of those games, drawing 11 and only affording the Whites five victories against his Red Devils teams.

As such, it's no secret whatsoever that he's never been on Christmas card lists amongst the Elland Road faithful.

The same can be said the other way around too, and most certainly not for one Whites fan anyway after what occurred on Sunday.

Ferguson was in attendance to take in the 1-1 draw at Elland Road, in which Dominic Calvert-Lewin salvaged a point for Daniel Farke's side.

What did Sean Dyche have to say about Sir Alex Ferguson abuse by Leeds United fan?

Football is a tribal sport, especially in a country like England where the nation lives and breathes it.

One of the greatest elements of it is the banter and rivalries shared between clubs and supporters.

However, there can be occasions where the line is crossed, and speaking via talkSPORT on Tuesday, Sean Dyche believes this was the case involving Ferguson at Elland Road.

Footage has emerged online of a Leeds supporter verbally abusing the 84-year-old as he left the stadium.

"Well unfortunately about the modern world that it is, firstly we're going to have to speak about it, rightly so, because it's an absolute joke. It's a disgrace for me," Dyche said.

"But that sort of adds more power to it because then other people go and Google it, but I think it's fair to show our respect to the fact we're not having it. I'm not having it.

"It's gone too far people doing that. For one, I've got elderly parents. Just as a person, as a human being, why you'd do that.

"This is too far. Honestly I think it's a disgrace. I don't even know how people think that's funny, and yet somehow the world is like that now."

But did Simon Jordan agree with Dyche, or does he feel it was more of a case of football banter on display?

What did Jordan think about the abuse Ferguson received?

Jordan is known as being a very outspoken person on a range of topics and points of discussion.

Following on from Dyche's take on the abuse Ferguson got from the Leeds fan, he also offered his thoughts on the situation.

"I mean it's not something Alex wouldn't have heard before from rival fans. I mean he's a strong character, he'll take no notice of it," Jordan began.

"He's a statesman of the game. There is of course a massive rivalry between Man United and Leeds, but there is a line.

"To suggest that someone should say to him some silly little twerp in the stand, it's mindless.

"Leeds themselves will be disappointed and embarrassed by it, because they will recognise they're a significant football club that play a part in the Premier League that want their reputation to be of the highest order."

Leeds have not yet commented on the incident, which in reality, has very little to do with them and just the fan involved.
