Leeds United picked up another couple of injury problems over the weekend after crashing to defeat against Liverpool.

Diego Llorente was forced off injured in the 3-0 defeat, with Adam Forshaw not even making the squad at Elland Road.

The midfielder has picked up a calf strain after finally recovering from his hip problem in yet another blow.

Phil Hay has shared an update on the duo on his personal Twitter account, and it doesn't make for great reading.

The Athletic journalist has shared that Llorente is still being assessed, with no timescale shared on either injury.

"Diego Llorente went off with a muscular problem yesterday," he said.

"Still being assessed. Adam Forshaw had a calf strain so wasn’t in the squad."

Not again.

If there was one man who is similar to Forshaw in this squad, it would be Llorente, which is infuriating.

The Spaniard is easily our best defender when fully fit, but the problem is he can't seem to string together more than a handful of appearances before pulling up with another problem.

Marcelo Bielsa is now facing a potential crisis ahead of the Newcastle game, with Pascal Struijk now suspended for that one after his red card.

Should Llorente and Robin Koch remain sidelined, it could be a long evening for a back four short of any real confidence at this moment in time.

We hope these assessments bring positive results, but it is hard to imagine that the Spanish international will be available for Friday.

Fingers crossed.
