Peter Crouch has been left raging at the performances of Leeds United in the Premier League over the past week.

The Whites have lost three on the bounce to Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal, conceding 14 goals along the way during this injury crisis.

Crouch played the injuries down though, insisting that the simple defending was a "complete shambles".

Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Crouch was left bewildered by what he was watching while working for BT Sports.

"But on Leeds, this is partly why I warn against giddiness of what Arsenal can go and do this year," he wrote.

"I was working at Leeds' seven-goal demolition at Manchester City in midweek and they are miles off it. Defensively… what do you even say? Madness. Injuries or not, a complete shambles."

Madness.

We have to admit, we have patience clearly because the number of players currently out is simply unmanageable.

Having said that, some of the defending has been inexcusable.

Stuart Dallas simply missing the ball for City's first last week and miss-kicking it into his own net is something we have never seen from our reliable man.

Then you add the mistake of losing the ball in your own box for the first against Arsenal, and these are basic errors you cannot afford to make at any level of football, never mind in the Premier League.

It doesn't get any easier on Boxing Day with Liverpool to come, the Whites just have to get the basics right and if they don't, it could be a very long afternoon at Anfield.
