Owen Hargreaves and Michael Owen both believe that Leeds United attacker Raphinha made a mistake in the 3-2 loss against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Brazilian made a sliding tackle on Antonio Rudiger in the penalty area and the referee judged it to be a fair tackle.

However, on consultation with VAR, he was asked to have a look at it on the monitor after which he pointed to the spot.

This led to a number of Leeds players protesting the decision, but the pundits in the Premier League Productions studio believed that Chris Kavanagh made the right decision.

Hargreaves, a BT Sport pundit, said, "That was old school Tony Adams. You can't do that now."

Owen responded, "You can see why the referee changed his decision and pointed to the spot. Could argue either way, really."

Not a penalty

Kavanagh should've stuck with his gut and not changed his decision even after watching the replay.

Raphinha came in clean and won the ball from Rudiger, who was already backed into a corner and unlikely to score from there.

Illan Meslier was also spotted applauding the Brazilian for the tackle he made.

Given how it was an attacking player making that challenge and winning the ball back, we think Raphinha deserved all the credit in the world.

Such crazy decisions will demotivate players from making sliding challenges in the future.

This takes away from the beauty of the game and unfortunately for Leeds, it cost them a valuable away point against one of the title contenders.
