'No room at the inn' - Agent claims 24-year-old had to leave Leeds in January
The agent of Lewie Coyle has claimed that the defender had to leave Leeds United in the January transfer window.
Steve Blatherwick admitted that he doesn't like doing business in the winter market, but believed that he had to move on the 24-year-old.
Coyle completed his permanent switch to Fleetwood after spending two seasons on loan at the League One club, impressing manager Joey Barton.
Blatherwick shared that there was no spot for the 24-year-old at Elland Road and that a permanent switch was his only option.
"I don’t know about other agents but I’m happy when players stay at their clubs, I don’t want to move them," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
"The Coyley thing, I had to move him, we had to move him because there was no room at the inn so to speak."
Marcelo Bielsa made his intentions known early with Coyle, by letting him leave on loan. The Argentine has Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas as two senior options who can play right-back.
Add on top of that Gaetano Berardi and the impressive youngster Bryce Hosannah in the under-23s and there was certainly no room at the inn for Coyle.
The 24-year-old only managed to make 23 senior appearances for the Whites and has already featured 101 more times for Fleetwood in his three-year spell there.
