Things are looking rosier for Daniel Farke at Leeds United than they were a year ago.

The German helped led Leeds back to the Premier League as winners of the Championship in the 2024/25 season.

There were rumours at the time that Leeds' hierarchy could look to make a change given a poor record he had in the Premier League with Norwich City.

Last November, his position was seemingly under threat again after Leeds made an underwhelming start to life in the top flight.

But since then, Farke led Leeds to a 14th-place finish, while they have been beaten just once in the Premier League this season.

Former Whites boss Neil Warnock used Farke and Leeds as a direct comparison with what's going on at Manchester United with Michael Carrick.

It has been a rough period for Carrick, who saw his side hammered 4-1 by Como in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Following the defeat, Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes openly criticised the tactics employed by Carrick and his staff.

Warnock was a guest of Alan Brazil and Gabby Agbonlahor on talkSPORT's morning show to discuss the goings on at Old Trafford.

The veteran manager, who had a 14-month spell in charge at Elland Road between February 2012 and April 2013, pointed out that things can turn around like they did for Farke at Leeds.

But he does not believe there is much hope of things changing course for Carrick and Man United.

Warnock said: "I just look at the comparison with Leeds. I think Daniel's done a fantastic job.

"It's ony last year they were wanting him out, they wanted to get him out.

"And he's sorted it out and now he's got the dressing room buzzing and behind them, and you can see that on the field of play.

"But you can't see any light at the end of the tunnel here (Man United)."

What's the latest with Daniel Farke's contract at Leeds?

Farke's turnaround has been so impressive that he is set to sign a new contract at Elland Road.

The German's current deal runs out in June 2027, but it has been reported Farke and Leeds have agreed in principle an extension to 2029.

Adam Pope later reported that Farke had parted company with his agency, which he suggested might have been an obstacle to fresh terms being agreed.

As yet, though, there has been nothing official from Leeds, and no indication of when exactly an announcement will be made.

It feels like just a matter of time, though.
