Leeds United are always on the hunt for the brightest young talent.

Carlos Corberan has helped build the Whites' academy into a strong force once again, winning the Professional Development League last season.

We have not been let down by a single academy product to come into the first team as of yet, and without some of them, we wouldn't be where we are today.

Leeds have been linked with Coventry City defender Sam McCallum, but manager Mark Robins has said it would take a monumental bid to secure his services [Coventry Live].

The 19-year-old has come out and commented on his future, claiming he is concentrating on the task in hand.

"Playing in the premiership is obviously still a dream," he told Kent Online.

"But at the moment I’m focusing on trying to get the starting position at Coventry and then see where it goes from there."

With both Barry Douglas and Ezgjan Alioski as options at left-back, McCallum would most likely slot into the under-23s at first. This is where he would have to prove himself before making the step up.

But, with the youthful defender mentioning that he is fully committed to Coventry at this moment. Leeds could face an uphill battle to secure his services down the line.

The 19-year-old signed for the League One side from non-league, Herne Bay.
