Leeds United talent Alfie McCalmont has really caught the eye during his loan spell with League Two side Oldham Athletic.

After scoring a thunderous volley against Exeter City in midweek, his exploits in the final third continued this time at Leyton Orient.

Marcelo Bielsa has always spoken publically about his admiration for the young Northern Ireland international, with this being his first full campaign of senior football.

Oldham celebrated the strike on their official Twitter account, and their description of the goal was perfect as he curled home.

"Super strike again from McCalmont as he sends a delightful finish home from outside the box," they wrote. "Come on."

It was a goal deserving of every superlative used by the Latics.

Another Twitter user shared a video of the strike, and McCalmont highlighted great composure to strike it beyond the keeper as he rolled to him.

Delightful indeed.

McCalmont will have been relishing this opportunity to get away on loan and get a full season of senior football under his belt to try and impress Bielsa.

How could El Loco not be looking at this form of the midfielder and not be tempted to include him in the Premier League squad next season?

Having been earmarked as a possible rotation option for Kalvin Phillips, McCalmont has proved that he can play further forward and provide a constant stream of goal involvements, similar to Mateusz Klich.

The 21-year-old notched his eighth goal of the season today, and he will be desperately aiming for double figures, something he can't have expected.

McCalmont is shining away from Elland Road, and Whites fans will be rejoicing.
