Lucas Perri has 'extra lessons' on distribution at Torino as alarms raised after Leeds United exit

Lucas Perri's early troubles at Torino have continued after joining on loan from Leeds United.

The Whites changed their goalkeepers this summer, with Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow leaving after the expiration of their contracts.

Perri was the third shot-stopper to leave Elland Road, joining Torino on an initial season-long loan, which contains an option to buy for £13.7million.

James Trafford and Michael Zetterer both joined Daniel Farke's side, with Alex Cairns currently the third-choice keeper.

There is no guarantee that Perri will remain at Torino beyond this season, especially given his current form.

The 28-year-old appears to have suffered another poor performance for the Serie A side in their latest league defeat to Roma.

In Tuttosport's print edition this Thursday, they reveal that Perri is having "extra lessons" to practice his distribution in training.

Some of the blame is said to be on Leeds, with the goalkeeper reportedly not in prime fitness after being frequently unused last season.

Head coach Ignazio Abate wants to see a leaner physique, more muscle elasticity and quicker reaction times.

A lot of "ball-at-feet drills" are said to be taking place during Torino's training, with the aim of improving Perri's distribution.

The Elland Road faithful are most likely unsurprised to hear of Perri's specific struggles.

What do Perri's performances mean for Leeds?

Torino have no obligation to buy Perri, which means they will only trigger a permanent move if they see the value in doing so.

The Brazilian has started off poorly in Italy, and it's coming off the back of an underwhelming debut campaign in England.

Perri's market value is most likely going to plummet even further if his form continues in the same vein, which could leave the Whites in a predicament next summer.

Perri still appears to be Torino's number one goalkeeper, so hopefully he can find his feet with time.
