Leeds return to Premier League action against West Ham at Elland Road on Friday.

Leeds are expected to beat West Ham, as they look to move seven points clear of their 19th-placed opponents.

Having not won in three games, Daniel Farke is under pressure at Leeds, and a win at West Ham would be a huge boost for their survival hopes.

Ahead of Friday night's clash, Liam Cooper named two stars that have caught his eye this season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ethan Ampadu earn praise from Liam Cooper

Calvert-Lewin has come under pressure for missing several big chances this season, yet fans will be shocked following Cooper's admission.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 24 October, Cooper highlighted Calvert-Lewin's positive impact this season.

He said: "Calvert-Lewin has been really good up front. I said to a lot of people that he can be a problem for other teams if he stays fit."

Leeds were in desperate need of another top-quality striker in the summer transfer window, with the attacking force of Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha, and Joel Piroe not yet up to Premier League standard.

Cooper also applauded captain Ethan Ampadu for his role in the team, saying, "Ampadu has impressed me, he's way beyond his years. He's such an experienced player at his age, and he's stepped into the captaincy role."

Having missed three Premier League games at the start of the season due to injury, the 25-year-old's quality at the base of midfield has been evident in the Premier League.

Since joining the club in 2023, he has been one of Leeds' most consistent players, and Cooper's praise is merited based on the impact Ampadu has had in Yorkshire.

Despite the fact that they've only scored seven goals this season, Leeds are expected to beat West Ham, and Calvert-Lewin must turn up for the Peacocks on Friday.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin nearing his last chance vs West Ham

With Nmecha and Piroe desperate to get their opportunity to start, Calvert-Lewin is on borrowed time.

West Ham have the worst defensive record in the league, and there are no excuses if the 28-year-old striker fails to find the back of the net again.

Having netted 57 times for Everton in the Premier League, it's clear that his experience will prove to be beneficial, but at the end of the day, strikers are solely judged on their output.

Elland Road will be bouncing on Friday, and Calvert-Lewin needs a goal desperately, not just for himself, but for Leeds' big to avoid relegation.
