Leeds United are looking to get back to winning ways against West Ham on Friday evening.

Daniel Farke's side hosts the Hammers at Elland Road on 24 February, hoping to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat to Burnley.

Leeds need to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone, and they have the perfect opportunity against a struggling Hammers side.

The visitors have lost six of their eight opening Premier League matches, and the Peacocks need to compound their misery.

Leeds are the favourites for West Ham clash

Stuart Atwell is in charge when Leeds host West Ham, but that is not expected to matter, despite his history against the Yorkshire side.

The Opta Analyst supercomputer believes that the Whites should come out on top, giving them a 43.4 per cent chance of victory.

The Hammers have a 29.8 per cent chance of a win, while the draw is the least likely outcome at just 26.7 per cent.

Leeds have no excuse not to beat West Ham

The LS11 outfit have no excuse, they must beat the Irons, there is no other outcome that is acceptable.

The relegation battle will ultimately come down to how Farke's side performs against the likes of the East London club, who will also be near the drop zone at the end of the season.

  • Leeds must beat those around them
  • West Ham are 19th in the division, while Leeds are 16th in the table
  • There is four points between the sides at the moment

They need to secure a victory and get their season back on track after two consecutive losses, one against a fellow newly-promoted team.

The data suggests that the advantage is on their side, now they must back it up and perform on the pitch, and give the fans some hope.

Leeds started the campaign well, but there is a chance that it falls apart, pretty quickly, and they need to avoid that, if they are to stay in the division.

They can start by inflicting more pain on Nuno Espirito Santo's team, who are in miserable form.
