Leeds United thumped Stoke City at Elland Road in the Championship on Monday, with five goals being scored in the first half.

Stoke's defending at Elland Road was questionable as they faltered against the Whites, with Joel Piroe scoring four goals in the opening 45 minutes and Junior Firpo grabbing the fifth.

Willy Gnonto scored a sixth for the visitors in the second half as Farke's team cruised past the Potters.

Durham was raging with what he saw from Robins' team in the first half hour in West Yorkshire, with Piroe scoring another just before the break.

Speaking on talkSPORT (21 April, 15:29), the pundit said: "Stoke abysmal, truly abysmal in this first half hour. They simply can't defend. They've been atrocious. Leeds have absolutely ruined them."

Farke sets benchmark as Premier League promotion close

Farke has all but sealed Premier League promotion for the Whites after destroying Stoke at home.

Burnley will host Sheffield United in the coming hours, and if Chris Wilder's team drop points, the West Yorkshire outfit's promotion will be confirmed.

The Elland Road faithful have been waiting to watch English top-flight football, and they're wishes could potentially be coming true soon after a two-year wait.

Leeds will need to back Farke if and when they return to the Premier League, with squad reinforcements required.

While the emphatic victory against Stoke was impressive, the Whites still have several evident holes in their squad.
