Daniel Farke refused to address reports linking Leeds United with a move to sign Luton left-back Ryan Giles in the January transfer window.

BBC journalist Adam Pope brought the question up to him in the press conference, but the German refused to be drawn into any names.

Luton manager Rob Edwards discussed him in general terms but did not get drawn into whether or not he would leave.

Via Twitter, Pope wrote, "As for full back additions DF does not want to discuss positions & names. Would not say anything about possible interest in Luton’s left-back/wing-back Ryan Giles. Luton boss Rob Edwards spoke about Giles in general terms but wouldn’t confirm if he’s set to leave."

Worth considering

Securing a left-back is imperative for Leeds, making the potential acquisition of Giles a crucial consideration in the January transfer window.

The left-back position has become a priority, with Junior Firpo's susceptibility to injuries and inconsistency raising concerns about defensive stability.

Moreover, Sam Byram, while returning from injury, may need time to regain peak form and the departure of Djed Spence, who returned to Spurs, further exacerbates the need for depth in the position.

Leeds United

Giles emerges as a viable option, especially on loan, providing immediate reinforcement and flexibility for Farke's squad.

The refusal of Farke and Edwards to divulge details adds intrigue, suggesting negotiations may be underway.

Giles' versatility as a left-back or wing-back aligns with Leeds' tactical preferences and the Whites should seriously consider pursuing his services, addressing a crucial area that could significantly bolster their defensive resilience and depth for the remainder of the season.
