Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto has reacted after Crysencio Summerville scored his first goal in West Ham United colours.

The former Whites star got on the scoresheet as the Hammers secured a last-minute 2-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday (27 October) courtesy of a stoppage-time penalty from England international Jarrod Bowen.

Summerville only left Elland Road this summer having shone under Daniel Farke last term and former teammate Gnonto was quick to send a brief message to the Dutchman after the win over the Red Devils.

Commenting on Summerville's Instagram post on Monday (28 October) the Italian international posted a praying hands emoji and a red heart.

How much did Leeds United get for Crysencio Summerville transfer at Elland Road?

While Leeds United supporters would much rather Summerville was banging in the goals for Farke's side this season, instead of West Ham, they will be delighted to see the Dutchman get up and running with his new club.

Without the attacking midfielder's goals last term, the Whites would have been nowhere near the likes of Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the race for automatic promotion.

While they didn't get the job done last term, Summerville did all that he could to try and fire them back into the top flight.

It is common knowledge that he and Gnonto were close friends during their time at Elland Road. While losing Summerville was a massive blow, it allowed Leeds to keep the Italian international for at least another season.

With profit and sustainability rules as they are in the second tier, the Whites are always going to be reliant on player sales until they manage to win promotion back to the top flight.

Hopefully, Gnonto and the rest of Farke's squad can join Summerville back in the Premier League next term.
