Barrow manager Mark Cooper has confirmed that they are taking a look at Leeds United attacker Josh Galloway on a trial basis.

According to The Mail, the 19-year-old is understood to be open to leaving Elland Road after failing to force his way into the first team there.

Galloway featured in the Bluebirds’ Lancashire Cup tie at Burnley on Tuesday and Cooper spoke about him in the aftermath of the game.

“We’re just having a look at him,” the Bluebirds boss said, without confirming whether or not there were any plans to sign him permanently.

Time to go

The 19-year-old clearly hasn't proven his worth at Thorp Arch and it makes sense that he's on trial elsewhere to prove his worth.

The level of talent at the academy has gone up astronomically since Marcelo Bielsa walked through the door a little over three years ago.

He's set the bar so high for the youngsters there that a number of them just have not made the cut.

Galloway joined Leeds a couple of years ago as a promising prospect and is likely to leave with his best years ahead of him.

Hopefully, the Whites include a clause in his contract to get him back in case he becomes ready to represent the first team in the future.

There's clearly some potential in the player and he'll possibly be able to fulfil it once he starts getting regular playing time.

He clearly would have higher aspirations than Barrow, but for starters, it's not the worst place to hone his skills.
