Leeds United are in the market for a number two goalkeeper before Monday night's deadline in January.

That's according to Mike McGrath of the Telegraph, who reports that the Whites are looking to strengthen numerous areas at Elland Road.

With Kiko Casilla away from the club on loan, Illan Meslier's current backup is Kristoffer Klaesson, who is yet to make his senior debut for Marcelo Bielsa.

Writing on his personal Twitter account after sharing news about an enquiry for Chelsea's Kenedy, McGrath dropped another insight.

"They are in market for a No2 gk still," he wrote.

When asked to clarify when it was Leeds or Chelsea looking for that deal, the reliable journalist confirmed he meant the Whites.

Number Two.

Well, it looks as though Leeds are in the market for some experience in their goalkeeping ranks in the next 24 hours.

Meslier has his place cemented in the side, but it looks as though his mistake against Newcastle has caused a rethink.

The young Frenchman is destined for the top, everyone knows that, but the lack of competition could be slowing that down.

If Meslier had a more experienced keeper pushing behind him, rather than young stoppers just happy to be in a Premier League squad, it could bring another level out of him.

This wouldn't push him down the pecking order either, Bielsa is loyal and kept Meslier as his number one, even when Casilla was ready and available despite his experience at Real Madrid and in huge competitions.

It would be very Leeds if we failed to bring in any attackers or midfielders and only announced a new number two goalkeeper.

Fingers crossed for more.
