Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo is likely to pass his medical at Leeds United if needed despite a serious knee injury last season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the 23-year-old's muscular setback that followed was months later and is not as concerning.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds NewsBrar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Matondo:

"Based on the timeline, sounds like he had a Grade 2 knee injury last season but hard to say any specifics.

"He did have a muscular injury but that was months afterwards which is less concerning for a knock-on effect.

"In either case, medical would only be an issue if there are some outlier issues but he’s most likely to not face an issue as he’s hit the ground running already for Rangers this season."

Rabbi Matondo would be a good signing for Leeds United

With uncertainty emerging over Manor Solomon's move to Elland Road [Shay Lugassi], it makes sense to have someone like Matondo ready to bring in.

The Wales international's pace makes him a constant threat in counter-attacks, stretching defences and creating space for teammates.

Despite the inconsistency, his moments of brilliance, like his memorable goal against Celtic last season, showcase his potential to be a game-changer and he could thrive in the right system under Daniel Farke.
