Leeds United could still sign another left-back after completing the deal for Junior Firpo, according to Alan Nixon.

The Whites have been strongly linked with Lyon defender Maxwel Cornet, and a June bid was reported this morning.

Nixon admitted the Ivorian could still arrive at Elland Road, and give Marcelo Bielsa two "Ferrari's" to choose from.

The Sun journalist responded to a fan on his personal Twitter account this afternoon, with Firpo to be announced in a matter of days.

"Unless you want Cornet to play both roles," he wrote.

"You can never have enough Ferraris."

Ferrari.

Although later admitting that Cornet isn't the priority for Bielsa anymore, this could still be a smart addition to the squad.

El Loco loves flexibility in his players, and the Ivorian can play as a winger as well as a left-back - similar to Ezgjan Alioski, but of course, much better.

The Lyon star was critical in their run to the Champions League semi-finals two years ago, scoring against Manchester City.

Cornet could be available for around £20million, and that would be a very smart signing and a massive upgrade on our squad depth.

We don't expect this deal to happen immediately, but if it gets later in the window without a winger coming in, Victor Orta could certainly revisit this one.

Keep your eyes peeled, this could happen at any moment - especially given how unpredictable the Whites are in a transfer market.
