Daniel Farke is just a couple of transfers away from solving the Leeds United jigsaw puzzle to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

While Joel Piroe is joint-fourth in the race for the Championship Golden Boot with 10 goals, he is the only player at Elland Road to hit double-digit goals, which could be an issue.

Dan James and Brenden Aaronson have both notched seven goals, with four and two assists, respectively, with Manor Solomon boasting five goals and five assists, but it feels like an out-and-out No.9 is needed.

The Whites had been linked with a move for Middlesbrough star, Emmanuel Latte Lath, and while that is still a possibility, he is far more likely to move to Atlanta United in the MLS [Ben Jacobs].

As an alternative, Leeds have been linked with former Manchester City and Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho [SCORENigeria], a player who won the FA Cup with the Foxes back in 2020/21.

Leeds United handed huge Kelechi Iheanacho transfer update

The 28-year-old is currently playing for Sevilla in La Liga, but having only started five league matches this season, he could be tempted with a move back to England, with Elland Road calling.

And Sevilla might have just opened the door for his exit after agreeing a £4.6million deal to sign Montpellier striker Akor Adams, with the player set to jet into Spain on Saturday 25 January [Fabrizio Romano].

The 24-year-old has scored 13 goals in 49 appearances since moving to Ligue 1, which makes him more than capable of replacing Iheanacho, and that could be a huge boost for Leeds before the winter window closes.

He has more than enough experience in England with Leicester to help fire the Whites out of the Championship and back to the Premier League.

The striker has also impressed on the international stage, notching 15 goals in 47 caps for Nigeria, and Farke could certainly use a figure like that for the second half of the campaign.
