Kasper Schmeichel blown away after what he saw at Leeds United

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has been blown away after what he's seen at Leeds United.

The one-time Premier League winner, who spent a season at Elland Road, believes that his former side can be categorised as a big club.

He also says that he's glad that the Whites are now in the top flight as they look set to avoid relegation this season.

Speaking on Fozcast, Schmeichel said, “It is a huge club and it is one of those things where if they had been run right back then, the potential they had was incredible.

“Going back now, it’s a different club and I’m glad where they are now because that is a Premier League club. I could feel it straight away and I knew it was a big club that I have now joined.”

Only facts

Schmeichel has chosen to speak facts on the podcast episode.

Leeds are a huge club and a 16-year absence from the top flight does not change that one bit.

They've got a rich history and are now back to where they belong.

Any ex player who's played in the Premier League in the 90s and early 2000s would tell you just how massive the club are.

Hopefully, next season is better than the current one and the Whites actually show some ambition to reach the next level.

Marcelo Bielsa's exit will surely have left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans but they know that there is still potential for the club to rise.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
