Karen Carney believes that Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is sulking after Marcelo Bielsa's sacking.

Footage emerged after Jesse Marsch's appointment of him hugging the English midfielder.

Carney is of the option that the England international would've been gutted by Bielsa's sacking as he helped take his game to the next level.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Carney said, "You've got to be gutted. I saw Marsch was hugging him but you have to do that.

"I can understand why Phillips would've been sulking as Bielsa showed faith in him when nobody did."

Fair enough

One can understand what Bielsa meant to Phillips and it's now Marsch's job to win him over.

Few thought Phillips would be as good as he is today and credit for that must go to the Argentine.

Bielsa joined with the Englishman playing as a box-to-box midfielder, but he knew that it wasn't his best position.

With his range of passing and positional awareness, he believed that Phillips would be an absolute menace playing at the tip of the midfield, just ahead of the defenders.

Within a few minutes, this change in position started working wonders and he earned the moniker of the 'Yorkshire Pirlo'.

With Phillips still injured, Marsch will have to make do with the rest of the midfielders he has at his disposal.

It will be interesting to see how he deploys the likes of Adam Forshaw, Mateusz Klich, Rodrigo and Stuart Dallas in the same eleven.
